Do you drive a stick, or does the thought of it make you want to jump into your automatic vehicle and drive away? while automatic vehicles have become the norm, there are several advantages and disadvantages to driving a car with a manual transmission.. The manual transmission was once the standard style in all vehicles; however, as technology has progressed, automatic transmissions have generally replaced the manual kind. that said, manual transmissions are still around, and many people still strongly prefer them, and there are many reasons for that.. Automatic transmissions are heavier and more complex than manuals, and with extra complexity the chance of failure increases. i prefer the light weight and simplicity of the manual transmission; with regular fluid changes and the occasional clutch replacement they'll last pretty much forever..
